Thermal laser hair removal

ABOUT

About Thermal Laser Hair Removal

Full-body medical hair removal
with the thermal laser everyone is talking about.

Laser hair removal falls broadly into two approaches: heat-accumulation and thermal destruction.

Heat-accumulation laser hair removal uses a low-output laser to build heat in an area known as the bulge region.

The bulge region contains hair follicle stem cells and pigment stem cells, which have been identified as involved in hair growth, though its extent has yet to be established.

For that reason, the effect of heat-accumulation hair removal on the bulge region varies from person to person and cannot be stated categorically.

Thermal laser hair removal, by contrast, uses a high-output laser to heat and destroy the dermal papilla and hair matrix cells themselves.

With this method, the dermal papilla and hair matrix cells are unlikely to regenerate once destroyed, so semi-permanent hair removal can be expected.

Thermal lasers approved by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare are backed by medical evidence and are regarded as having a strong safety profile.

REASONS

Why People Choose It

Free tidying of missed hairs. No cancellation fee.

Many people worry about hairs they have missed in hard-to-reach places such as the nape and back. We take care of that for you.

If your period arrives or you feel unwell shortly before your appointment, you can cancel free of charge up to three days in advance.

We also do not charge a repeat consultation fee. (Please confirm the detailed terms at your consultation.)

A cancelled appointment does not use up a session

For those who sign up for a course, we want you to receive the full treatment across the number of sessions agreed.

We therefore do not treat a cancelled appointment as using up one session of the course. (A cancellation fee applies for last-minute cancellations.)

Mid-course cancellation and refunds available

Hardly anyone has cancelled partway through a course since we opened, but we do offer mid-course cancellation and refunds so that you can attend with confidence.

If anything concerns you, please feel free to ask a member of staff at your consultation.

We use machines with a large body of cases reported in the literature

Machines with few reported cases or little track record leave doubts about reliability, even in medical hair removal, so we do not use them.

As a rule, there are no optional charges beyond the prices listed

Our prices are set out in advance at a level everyone can work with.

If anything concerns you, please feel free to ask.

As a medical institution, a doctor is on site during opening hours

As a medical institution, a doctor examines you before every treatment, and in the unlikely event of a burn or paradoxical hair growth, a doctor responds immediately.

We accept cash, cards and a range of payment methods

The cost of treatment does not change according to the payment method you choose. (Fees set by your card company and the like do apply.)

FLOW

The Process

Consultation

A specialist counselor explains medical hair removal and the points to note beforehand. If pain concerns you, a test application can be given at this stage.

Examination by a doctor

A doctor checks and examines you for atopic dermatitis and other skin conditions. If anything concerns you, please do ask.

Preparing for hair removal

Before treatment the area is confirmed and marked. If pain concerns you, anesthetic cream is applied beforehand. *Please finish shaving by the morning of your appointment.

Laser application

An experienced female nurse carries out the treatment carefully, section by section. Treatment is in a private room, so you need not worry about being seen.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

PatientPatient

Is the treatment painful?

PhysicianPhysician

Because the thermal method uses high output, you may feel a sensation like being flicked with a rubber band.

Sensitivity to pain varies, and anesthetic cream is available for those who are concerned.

A test application can also be given at the consultation stage.

PatientPatient

How many visits does it take to finish?

PhysicianPhysician

This depends on hair volume and the area, but repeating the treatment over several sessions makes the effect easier to see.

We offer courses of three and six sessions, applying the laser so that complete removal can be achieved in relatively few sessions.

The number needed varies from person to person, and we will give you a guide at your consultation.

PatientPatient

How long should I leave between sessions?

PhysicianPhysician

Hair grows in cycles, so leaving a set interval between sessions helps the treatment work.

The guideline interval varies with the area and the hair cycle, so we will suggest a schedule that suits you.

PatientPatient

Does it work on fine hair and vellus hair?

PhysicianPhysician

The thermal laser method heats and destroys the dermal papilla and hair matrix cells themselves.

It can be expected to work on thick hair and equally on fine hair and vellus hair.

Please raise any areas that concern you, such as the bikini line or the face, at your consultation.

PatientPatient

Can I have treatment if I have a tan?

PhysicianPhysician

Care is needed with heavily tanned skin, as it can lead to burns and other skin problems.

We recommend avoiding sun exposure and protecting yourself from UV light before and after treatment.

A doctor will assess the state of your skin, so please raise it with us if you are concerned.

PatientPatient

What if I have missed some hairs when shaving?

PhysicianPhysician

We tidy up missed hairs in hard-to-reach places such as the nape and back free of charge.

We ask that you finish shaving by the morning of your appointment.

A doctor is on site, so in the unlikely event of a skin problem we respond immediately.
